The Illenauwiesen Campus is a customer installation under Section 6 EnWG: we operate the electricity grid on campus ourselves. Whatever solar and storage don't cover, we draw as remaining energy directly from the 20 kV medium-voltage grid and convert it to low voltage with five large 20 kV transformers of our own. We run this distribution grid independently — so the power reaches the socket without detours.

What does “genuine green power without certificate tricks” mean?+
Our power comes locally from solar on the Illenauwiesen Campus, stored in the battery. Remaining volumes we source via PPA (mainly wind) and flexibly on the energy exchange — always genuine green power, no grey power dressed up with “greened” guarantees of origin.
How do I charge my EV at your stations?+
Just as usual via your existing charging-tariff provider: unlock with your familiar charging card or your provider's app. No additional app is required.
Does Future Energy bill my charging session?+
No. We operate the charging stations; billing runs through your roaming provider — just like at other public charging points.

What happens at night or with little sun?+
The battery bridges low-sun periods: surplus generated during the day is stored and drawn in the evening. If that isn't enough, we source the remaining volumes via wind PPA and flexibly on the power exchange — electricity is available at all times, with no worry about outages.
